Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

  • 1 cup fresh milled soft white wheat flour finely milled (115 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened (58 grams)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup 78 grams
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar 100 grams
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • Cream butter and maple syrup until fluffy.
  • Add the egg yolk and vanilla and combine.
  • Add dry ingredients to the wet and mix until just combined, do not over mix.
  • Place the cookie dough onto a piece of parchment or plastic wrap, flatten into a disk and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and remove the dough from fridge to soften slightly.
  • Roll out onto floured surface to 1/4" thick and cut into desired shapes.
  • Bake for 8 minutes or until slightly golden brown on the edges, don't over cook!
  • Prepare frosting by mixing all ingredients until frosting or glaze forms.
  • Decorate cooled cookies as desired.
