Ingredients

Donut Batter:

  • 1 cup blanched almond flour 120 grams
  • ½ cup unflavored protein powder 56 grams
  • cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • cup mini chocolate chips 58 grams

Chocolate Glaze:

  • cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips 57 grams
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and grease a 6-count donut pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, protein powder, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add the wet ingredients - eggs, maple syrup, yogurt, and vanilla and mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Fill the donut pan with the batter and bake for 18-22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  • Allow the donuts to cool for about 15 minutes.
  • Make the glaze by melting the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a small bowl.
  • Add the almond butter and stir until smooth.
  • Dip each donut into the glaze.
